Schools for Fools

“ The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ ” Psalm 14:1

Schools that use a secular curriculum stand on the foundation that there is no God; or if there is, he is not concerned with schooling. In God’s terms they are foolish, and they offer an education in foolishness. Who but a fool would want his children taught that there is no God?

Wisdom and character where there is no belief in God

How neutral are unbelievers who design the state’s curriculum without God? How wise are the teachers who do not fear God in their teaching? What is the character of men and women who teach lessons without God? “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God made it plain to them. … Although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools … Since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind.” Romans 1:18-28 "Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD, since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm." Proverbs 1:29-33

Lady Wisdom and Dame Folly ... longing for your child’s mind and heart

In Proverbs, Solomon pictures two women calling for the affection of his son. Lady Wisdom cries, “Get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding ... embrace her, and she will honour you.” But nearby, the prostitute Dame Folly beckons with promises of immediate gratification: “Let’s enjoy ourselves ...”

The empty wisdom of godless schools beckons children with smooth words promising immediate gratification. But these intellectual brothels ravish children‘s minds and hearts. Though enriched in experience, children are robbed of everything else of lasting value.

Solomon likens learning wisdom without God to prostitution. Would you prostitute your children in a school of folly? Do you teach them that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge? Do you give them into the care of Dame Folly or Lady Wisdom for their daily schooling?

Examples of foolishness in the New Zealand state curriculum

It is illegal for state schools to give God recognition. By law, schools must teach that God makes no difference to children’s learning or lives.

Every state syllabus stresses it aims to teach “values” - these are beliefs without God.

Syllabuses explain how to manipulate children in English, Social Studies and Science to give up the beliefs of their parents and adopt the beliefs of their peer group.

Instruction and hard work have been overthrown in favour of play and finding out by accident at both primary and secondary levels. This happens even in technology where children are encouraged to design and make things before learning the skills or having the discipline of building a foundation of basics.

The science syllabus requires that children at all levels deny God’s work of creation and instead regard created order and beauty as purposeless accidents - a third of on senior school Biology syllabus is devoted to social and genetic evolution.

Although prayer to God is prohibited, children are required to pray to Maori gods and respect tapu and the spirit forces in the school.

In teaching reading, children are prevented from learning the skills of the phonetic English with which God has blessed us. Parents who complain are fobbed off with the lie that given time their children will learn to read - even though the schools know a large percentage of their children never learn to read by experience.

The Social Studies syllabus teaches children that there are no standards of right and wrong, and that they must never reject what God forbids. It demands that children accept what each society likes to do - genocide, adultery, murder, theft or idolatry.

In junior schools, the reading material specially written for the state syllabus has been designed to change children’s thinking by featuring themes of violence, Maori spirits and the reversal of sexual roles. In secondary schools, literature features explicit sexual activity and other evils to break down children’s inhibitions.

Often parents are not permitted to watch their children being taught, cannot review lesson content or reading material, and are not given honest appraisals of academic progress.

In the NZQA system, objective standards have been eliminated, and participation in activities has become the new measure of academic progress.

The complete nature of the fool

“ The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.” Psalm 14:1 "The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.” Proverbs 15:2
